Running is hard. Training is essential. The same is true spiritually. As parents, we work hard to lead our own kids to Jesus, and that’s good. But are we also out-loving the families around us to Christ? Jesus said in John 13, “By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.” Paul told us to not only run to win, but outdo one another in showing honor, or hospitality. Running the race isn’t only about our own family, it’s making sure as many people as possible join us in Heaven. How? Help a neighbor. Sit with someone hurting. Invite somebody over without expecting anything back. And share Jesus. Do it often enough, our kids will look for ways to “run well, too.”
Are we outrunning others?
