“(A)nd when they had called in the apostles, they beat them and charged them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.  Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name.  And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ” (Acts 5:40-42).

Alberto Gonzalez, TWR’s Ministry Director for Cuba, was dragged out of seminary and thrown into a forced labor camp in in his home country in the mid 1960s.  After his release, he remained in Cuba, and “did not cease teaching and preaching” about Jesus to his fellow Cubans.  Now, after decades of persecution, Alberto says, “now people are willing to listen to the Gospel,” and “we really think that this is our time to reach our country.”

May God continue to use Alberto and TWR to evangelize and disciple the nation of Cuba.
