Don't Expect the World
John 16:33 I have told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have troubles. But be brave! I have defeated the world!
Take God at His Word
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Forgive and Forget
Luke 6:37 Don't judge others, and God will not judge you. Don't condemn others, and you will not be condemned. Forgive others and you will be forgiven.
Abide in Me
John 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. (NRSV)
Start Living Your Gig
Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (NKJV)
Be Delighted with Who You Are
Psalm 139:13-16 You formed the way I think and feel. You put me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because you made me in such a wonderful way. I know how amazing that was! You could see my bones grow as my body took shape, hidden in my mother's womb. You could see my body grow each passing day. You listed all my parts, and not one of them was missing.
Don't Let Circumstances Control You
John 19:16-17 So Pilate handed Jesus over to them to be killed on a cross. The soldiers took Jesus. He carried his own cross to a place called "The Place of the Skull." (In Aramaic the name of this place is "Golgotha.")
Putting First Things First
Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus answered, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.' This is the first and most important command. And the second command is like the first: 'Love your neighbour the same as you love yourself.' All the law and the writings of the prophets take their meaning from these two commands."
Christ as Your Cornerstone
Ephesians 2:20-22 You believers are like a building that God owns. That building was built on the foundation that the apostles and prophets prepared. Christ Jesus himself is the most important stone in that building. The whole building is joined together in Christ, and he makes it grow and become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Christ you are being built together with his other people. You are being made into a place where God lives through the Spirit.
Just Believe that He Is
Hebrews 11:6 Without faith no one can please God. Whoever comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who sincerely try to find him.
