Thankfulness A Proof Of Faith
Why is the calling of God so very important to know? It is because of the eternal purpose and provision for accomplishing that purpose. God calls to first of all bring the believer into communion with Himself. He also specifically calls His sheep by name so that through them, as they walk by obedient faith, He can and will accomplish through them His perfect will for His glory, and their blessing.

The man who is thankful to God is the man who trusts God with all that pertains to life and godliness. He knows that every good and perfect gift comes from God, and that no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. The thankful man is a faith-filled, humble man, who receives all from God, and gives to Him the praise and blessing for it.

Several are the examples of second mile people in the Bible. Second mile people are those who deliberately choose to go the second mile in their devotion to God, and their service to others. They are characterized by a selflessness, and a commitment to do good, and to honor and glorify God.
Patterns In God's Promises
God is a God of order. He always does things in wisdom with purposeful intent. There is a consistency in His ways, though they are past finding out. If we are to know them, then we must trust Him for wisdom, and understanding. In the understanding of His ways in His dealings with men, there is a holy consistency which provides mankind with confidence in their walk with Christ.
The Testimony Of God In Christ
When Jesus Christ came to this earth to be born in Bethlehem's sable, then to walk among us, He did so revealing the truth, life and light of God. God the Father was in essence explained by Him, as by the Spirit the very life of the Father was revealed, or manifested to men. By Christ we know the Father.
The Eternal Rock
Christ is depicted in Scripture as the Eternal Rock. Why? He is first that One who rises above all creation around Him, revealing Himself to be the singular most important and glorious object for faith. Secondly, in the fact that He is the Rock that is eternal in every aspect of His being, He provides mankind with the knowledge that He is perfect strength and power, authority and sovereignty. He is thus worthy of the entire trust of men, especially concerning salvation.
The Bible God's Gift To Mankind
God has preserved the Holy Scriptures, the Bible, through the centuries and Millinia, so that man can know assuredly the truth concerning the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The One who has preserved the Scriptures is the One who reveals Himself according to them, and through them. He speaks, and the quickened word produces faith in the power of God.
Seeking God Early
Seeking God in truth is a very real thing. To seek Him "early" is proof of one's desire to know Him, but also, of the fact that it pleases God for us to seek Him first. Called to know God, Christ, in communion with Him by the Spirit, the calling of the believer is monumental in every way. The one and primary aspect of knowing God and knowing His calling is the possibility of meeting Him in the morning, first thing.
Putting One's Hand To The Plow
The engagement, or commitment to Christ, is not a partial one. It involves the whole being, and that for eternity. However, if it is true commitment, and surrender, it is with the knowledge of who Christ is, our Maker, Savior, and Redeemer. The Father, in giving His Son to die for the sins of men gave His highest and Best. The response of the heart by the grace of God can be nothing less.
He Is Coming
The coming of the Messiah had been prophesied for many years, and in many ways, by the Lord's servants, the prophets of the Old Testament. When He did come, the Spirit of God would reveal that coming to certain individuals who were earnestly looking for Him. To the one who is willing to know the will of God, God will communicate that which is His will, for His highest glory.
