Daniel 9:15-23 - Gabriel Helps Daniel Understand God's Program for Israel

From Chapter 9:15-23 of the prophecy of Daniel (דָנִיאֶל), brother Gideon Levytam emphasizes Daniel’s deep concern for his people Israel. Burdened for the restoration of his people to the city of Jerusalem, Daniel cries to God saying, "O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do". In His grace, God sends his messenger, the angel Gabriel, who touches Daniel and informs him as to the purpose of his coming. Gabriel was sent to give Daniel the needed skill from God, in order to understand God’s full program for the final restoration of His people Israel.

Ecclesiastes 1:1 - Introduction to the Book of Ecclesiastes (קֹהֶלֶת)

From the study on the Book of Ecclesiastes, Kohelet in Hebrew, (קֹהֶלֶת). Brother Gideon Levytam gives us an introduction to one of the most interesting portions in the Word of God. This unique book begin with these words. "The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem”. Ecclesiastes 1:1. In his older years, Kohelet, that is king Solomon, spoke to the assembled people of Israel, reminding them to remember their Creator God in the days of their youth and at all times. Ecclesiastes is a compilation of king Solomon’s convicting messages to his people, desiring to keep them from forgetting their God, and making the same mistakes that he himself had made earlier in his own life.

Prophecies of the Messiah - The Rock of Israel (צוּר יִשְׂרָאֵל)

Looking at Exodus 17, Numbers 20 and II Samuel, Gideon Levytam points to the eleventh prophecy in the Hebrew Scriptures concerning the promise of the coming Messiah. The children of Israel were led by God as they travelled to the promised land of Canaan, yet, because of the difficult journey and their dissatisfied hearts, they contended against God and His servant Moses. In Exodus 17:2a, the people contended with Moses to give them water, Moses replied, why do you contend with me, why do you tempt the LORD? Exodus 17:2b. The LORD met the needs of His people, and quenched their thirst by smiting the Rock, and providing them with water. David called that smitten Rock, the God of Jacob, the Rock of Israel (צוּר יִשְׂרָאֵל). That Rock is Israel's promised Messiah, Yeshua / Jesus who was smitten for the sin of the World. Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 10:4, "And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ."

Daniel 9:3-14 - Daniel's Prayer of Confession on Behalf of His People Israel

From Chapter 9:3-14 of the prophecy of Daniel (דָנִיאֶל), brother Gideon Levytam points to the godly attitude of Daniel, as he identifies with the sins of his people Israel. While God’s Word doesn’t mention any personal sin in Daniel’s life, he suffered along with his people. In his prayer of confession, Daniel said, "we have sinned and have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly, and have rebelled". Daniel, in his prayer and supplication before God, admitted to the disobedience of the whole nation, including the prophets, the kings, the princes and the fathers. Daniel understood that God's judgment was poured out on Israel because of God's promise in the law of Moses. Now that the seventy years of captivity were coming to an end, Daniel wanted God to fulfill His promise to restore His people of Israel back to Himself, and to their land.

Ephesians 6:18-24 - Pray Always With All Prayer and For All God's People

From Ephesians 6:18-24, Gideon Levytam concludes the study of Paul's letter to the Ephesians. In his final words to the Ephesians, Paul charged them to pray at all times, with all prayer and supplication in the power of the Holy Spirit. Paul also charged the Ephesians to be persistent as they pray to their God on behalf of His people. As a servant of the Lord Jesus the Messiah, Paul also requested that they pray for him, that he would have boldness as he shares with everyone God’s Word. Paul concludes his letter with the desire that the Ephesians, and all who love the Lord, would experience, peace, love and grace, which is provided through God the Father, and the Lord Jesus the Messiah.
