Join Pastor David Guzik as he continues in his study of the Book of Psalms. Psalm 6 is known as the first of seven penitential psalms – songs of confession and humility before God. It was a custom in the early church to sing these psalms on Ash Wednesday, 40 days before Resurrection Sunday.
In this message we see the woman who was caught in the act of adultery, and how the religious leaders bring her to Jesus in accusation. Join Pastor David Guzik as he teaches through the Gospel of John!
This video contains questions asked by our viewers on essential topics to the Christian life, collected from previous "Live Q&A with David Guzik" episodes. In Part 2 David addresses questions about whether water baptism is essential for salvation, how we can teach children about Jesus and who He is, the different "Herod's" mentioned in the Bible, whether the church today partners with any of the covenants mentioned in the Bible, how we can tell if a believer is filled with the Holy Spirt, and if we need to ask to be filled with the Spirit after we get saved, and if verses in the Bible that mention Angels are actually fables.
David Guzik teaches on "Heaven" and what it means and looks like for the believer. This is the final teaching of a three part series, Pastor David taught at Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara, calles "Earth, Hell, Heaven".
This is a Q&A that follows the message "Heaven", which is the final message of a three part series taught by David Guzik, called "Earth, Hell, Heaven".
This is the second part of a three part study with David Guzik, "Earth, Hell, Heaven". In this message Pastor David explains what Hell looks like, how it is for those who go there, and how it effects us as believers,
This is the first message of a 3-part series Pastor David Guzik taught at this home church, Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara. We take a look at Heaven and Hell, and how it connects to our lives here on earth. How are we to live as believers, still here on earth, expecting heaven to come?
Psalm 136 is a special psalm, with each one of its 26 verses repeating the sentence, His mercy endures forever. Throughout the Hebrew Scriptures, the phrase has somewhat of a liturgical sense to it, as if the assembled people of Israel said or sung this in response to the direction of the Levites leading singing and worship. We picture a great multitude of the people of God gathered in the temple courts. A priest or Levite would call out a reason to give God thanks, and His people would respond with, “For His mercy endures forever.”
Consider how great the mercy of God is, as it is expressed in the person and work of Jesus Christ throughout this wonderful psalm!
Psalm 100 is a psalm of thanksgiving, and it speaks of an invitation to the whole earth to know and to worship God.
Pastor David Guzik gives the what and why of giving praise and the what and why of giving thanks.
