From Chapter 4:9-17 of the study of the Book of Romans (אֶל־הָרוֹמִיִּים), Brother Gideon Levytam emphasize Paul’s continued teaching on justification by faith. Paul refers back to David’s description of the blessedness of the one to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works, quoting from Psalm 32:1–2, as recorded in Romans 4:6–8. Paul then raises the question: "Is this blessing only for the circumcised (the Jews), or also for the uncircumcised (the Gentiles)?" He answers by pointing to Father Abraham, whom God reckoned as forgiven and justified by faith, long before he was commanded to perform the sign of circumcision on himself and his son Isaac. Therefore, forgiveness of sins and justification before God are received only by grace through faith. Why? So that the promise of God to Abraham that he would be the father of all true believers, both Jews and Gentiles might be fulfilled. This promise is extended to all who simply believe in the Lord Jesus the Messiah.
