Scott Minnich is a Distinguished Professor of Microbiology at the University of Idaho and is notably recognized for his research on bacterial pathogens and his public advocacy for the theory of intelligent design. He is a prominent proponent of "irreducible complexity," specifically arguing that the bacterial flagellum—a complex molecular motor—displays evidence of being intelligently designed.
