Be Kind to Yourself

Are you ever harder on yourself than you would be on anyone else? Maybe you’re trying to lose weight. Maybe you’re working to break a bad habit. Maybe you’re learning something new and you feel frustrated because you’re not where you want to be yet. We can be quick to give grace to other people, but sometimes we forget to give that same grace to ourselves. When Jesus said, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” He wasn’t just telling us to care for others. He was reminding us that we too are people created and loved by God. You’re not defined by your mistakes. Your value comes from the God who created you. So today, be patient with yourself. Give yourself room to grow and speak to yourself with the same kindness you would offer a friend.
