Living for Days Off

Maybe you wake up at the beginning of your week already counting down until your next day off. You do your job, collect your paycheck, and tell yourself, “Just get through the week.” And I get it. Not every job is your dream job. But don’t let a job you don’t love convince you that your life doesn’t start until your days off. Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” That doesn’t mean you have to stay somewhere that’s unhealthy. It means that wherever God has you right now, there’s still an opportunity to honor Him. Do your work well. Treat people well. And keep pursuing the next thing God may have for you. Your job may be part of your life, but it doesn’t have to define your life. So don’t just live for your days off. Ask God how you can be faithful with where you are right now.
