People or Projects?

If you're dating someone seriously, here's a question worth asking yourself: If this person never changed, would I still see myself marrying them? Because sometimes we fall in love with someone's potential. We see who they could become, and we convince ourselves that if we just give them enough time, they'll eventually become that person. But here's the truth: the person you're dating isn't your project. You can't build a relationship around the hope that you'll eventually see change. So take an honest look at your relationship. Not just, “Do I love this person?” but, “Does this relationship honor God?” Does it bring you closer to Christ? Does it encourage you to love like Christ? You don't need a perfect relationship. But you do need an honest one that deepens your relationship with God.
