Adventure of Faith
On today's Footsteps, Fernando Diaz Sarmiento tells the story of how God called him to Canal de Vida (TWR's national partner in Spain). In explaining Canal de Vida's ministry to the Spanish people, Fernando says, it's "not always easy," but it is "an adventure of faith." I like that description! In fact, according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, "adventure" is described as "an undertaking usually involving danger and unknown risks" and "an exciting or remarkable experience."(1) Let's think about this definition in relationahip to God's calling on our lives. On one hand, God is omniscient and sovereign, and there is no need for Him to take risks. But as for us, God doesn't always reveal every future plan to us, so it often feels like we're taking risks. But the truth of the matter is that we can trust God as we travel down the path to which He has called us. And, as we come to learn that He is with us every step of the way, we should find that our "adventure of faith" is also "exciting and remarkable!"
