The Garbage Dump
On the way to and from work, I drive past the local landfill. While it's several hundred yards off of the highway, at times, the foul smell is still quite strong. I can't imagine what it must be like to daily work there. But even worse, it's hard for me to believe that there are people throughout the world who live right next to garbage dumps and survive off of what they find as they rummage through the trash. I will say no more about this subject right now, but I will encourage you to listen to today's Footsteps featuring Pete Emery. God has called Pete and his wife Jen to to serve as missionaries with Extreme Response International where they minister to a group of people who live beside a garbage dump in Ecuador. May God bless the Emerys as they humbly serve Him!
