The apostle Paul had a desire to see the salvation of his fellow Jews.  In Romans 10:1 (ESV), he writes, “Brothers, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved.”  And then in his first letter to the church at Corinth, Paul says, “To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews” (1 Corinthians 9:20, ESV).

I believe Maria Burton has this same desire to reach people—especially her people.  As a Latin American woman from Venezuela, Maria ministers to other Latinas who are living in the U.S.  And, by listening to her heart, and by looking at her smile, I know that this calling brings her joy.
