Much Much Easier
Just today, my wife Kathy asked me, “Would it be appropriate for me to ask a woman from another faith why she converted to that particular religion?” She went on to say, “Should I build a relationship with her first?”
According to today’s Footsteps guest, Kate Mitchell, who spent several years as a teacher in Islamabad, her experience taught her that it was “much, much easier” to get into conversations about faith with Pakistani women because their religion “shapes their culture.” But, what about people of other faiths who live in the United States or Europe? Are they going to be as open to talk about their faith? Maybe. So, let’s be bold and give it a try.
