A Prisoner in China
Ed Cannon, President and CEO of FEBC (Far East Broadcasting Company) tells an emotional story on today’s Footsteps of a man in China who was imprisoned for sharing his Christian faith. Don’t miss two phrases that Ed mentions in the story—“25 years later” and “my son who I’ve never met." Think about those two details. This prisoner in China was still in jail after 25 years because he dared to tell others about Jesus. Furthermore, this believer had a son that he had never met. What a sacrifice for simply sharing the Gospel! This Chinese believer reminds me of another “prisoner for Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 3:1, ESV) who once wrote “whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ” (Philippians 3:7, ESV).
