From her experience of living in Pakistan and working with both Pakistanis and Afghans, Kate Mitchell, today’s guest on Footsteps, says that it often was pointed out to her that “as Christians, we really don’t practice our faith very well.”

Maybe we need to apply Galatians 5:25 (ESV) to our lives—“If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.”  John Calvin, in his commentary on Galatians gives us some clarification on living and walking by the Spirit.  He writes, “By the life is here meant the inward power, and by the walk the outward actions.”  Calvin also points out, “The death of the flesh is the life of the Spirit. If the Spirit of God lives in us, let him govern our actions.”(1)  Indeed!  And, if the Holy Spirit is “governing our actions,” then I’m sure we’re doing a better job of practicing our faith well.
