In today's Footsteps, Mel Code of DayStar Native Outreach describes a First Nations reserve in Canada. I found it interesting when Mel referred to the "traditional practices" as being "well-established in the elder population" but "lost significantly to the middle and younger populations." His comments reminded me that I need to be spending more time connecting with my two boys. As a dad, not only do I need to disciple them in their Christian faith and pass along biblical wisdom, but also I need to teach them about their family heritage. Otherwise, that heritage will be lost.
