In John 17, Jesus goes before the Father on behalf of his disciples and prays, "I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one...As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world."  I've often heard this thought summarized as believers should be "in the world but not of the world."  But, what does that actually look like?  I think Bill Early is on track.  Bill is a competitive pool player.  While his matches are held in bars, clubs, and pool halls, Bill refrains from drinking, smoking, and using profanity.  His goal, along with playing pool well, is to befriend those who are still "of the world."  May God use Bill as a light that shines brightly in some pretty dark places.
