In today’s Footsteps, Yvonne Knox, TWR’s Project Hannah Coordinator for Ireland referred to being inspired by a plaque she saw in Zanzibar in East Africa.  The plaque honored Dr. David Livingstone--a medical doctor, explorer, missionary, preacher, and crusader against the slave trade.

So, what compelled David Livingstone to trek across Africa and fight the slave trade?  “In the glow of love which Christianity inspires, I soon resolved to devote my life to the alleviation of human misery,” wrote Dr. Livingstone.  [David Livingstone, Missionary Travels and Researches in South Africa (New York: Harper and Brothers, Publishers, 1858), 5].

May the love of Christ inspire all of us to join Yvonne Knox in saying, “Lord, I am willing” to devote our lives to His service.
