Every Four Minutes
I love to fly! I even enjoy big airports, and for me, the busier the better because I like to watch the planes taking off and landing. I suppose that's why my favorite airport is Atlanta. Officially, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the busiest airport in the world with an average of 275,000 passengers a day.(1) And, with almost 2,500 arrivals and departures during a 24-hour period, a plane is landing or taking off every 35 seconds. For me, that's exciting to watch! But, on a recent trip to the headquarters of Mission Aviation Fellowship in Nampa, Idaho, I was equally excited to learn from their President and CEO, John Boyd, that "every 4 minues around the world there's an MAF airplane taking off or landing. While those numbers might not quite equal those of Atlanta, they're still impressive, plus, MAF is not just moving people. Instead, they are moving the hearts of people as they "carry the love of our Lord Jesus" to them.
