I don't think I had ever met a real clown before (at least not one without makeup), but now I know Mark Mekelburg, a.k.a. Dr. P.P.P. Pipoca.  Mark works as a professional clown in Portugal.  During our time together, Mark opened my eyes to the unique role a clown plays in communicating truth to others.  The clown doctor put it this way, "The essence of the clown is truth.  The clown takes it and exagerates it, but it's the reality of life."  From that perspective, clowning sure sounds like a good platform for ministry to me!
