Digital Shortwave
Guglielmo Marconi is credited with inventing radio," but it's David Sarnoff who is called the "Father of Broadcasting." At a time when radio was primarily used as two-way communication (such as from ship to shore), David Sarnoff took radio to another level. He envisioned radio stations broadcasting programs to the masses. If you're not familiar with Mr. Sarnoff, you might be asking, "so...was he the head of an early radio network?" Actually, David Sarnoff became the president of the Radio Corporation of America or RCA, and not only was RCA involved in radio programming and broadcasting, the company also manufactured the radio receivers. Now, to some extent, that's where we stand today with digital shortwave. The technology has been invented, and TWR even has transmitters which are capable of broadcasting a digital shortwave signal, but we're waiting for an affordable digital shortwave radio to hit the market. That's where inventor Mike Stone comes into the picture. He's working on a low-cost digital shortwave receiver. Just imagine the ministry potential! Please pray for Mike's success in this endeavor.
