In today's Footsteps, TWR's Ann Seri describes many of the women that she encountered on a recent trip to Haiti.  When she looked into their eyes, she saw a "vague sadness."  Even though many of these women were believers, they still struggled with deep sadness.  Why?  Proverbs 15:13 (ESV) reminds us that "A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed."  The accompanying note in the Ryrie Study Bible says, "sad thoughts crush the spirit."  With Haiti's poverty, devastation from a major earthquake, loss of loved ones, plus the results of a country dedicated to Voodoo, how could one not have "sad thoughts?"  May God use Project Hannah to help these women find true and lasting joy in Jesus.
