In times of war, we pray for peace, and I think we all would agree that peace in the world is desirable.  But it's even more important that each one of us has peace with God.  "Our Lord Jesus talks about peace," explains TWR's Branko Bjelajac on today's Footsteps.  "He is the one to bring peace to the people."  How?  Speaking to believers in Jesus, the apostle Paul wrote,

"Through him (Jesus) God reconciled
    everything to himself.
He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth
by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

"This includes you who were once far away from God.  You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions.  Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body.  As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault." (Colossians 1:19-22, NLT)

If after reading those verses, you still have questions about this whole concept of having peace with God, of being "reconciled" to Him through faith in Jesus, I invite you to click on the link below and watch a video about "Knowing God."
