"We need a lot of prayer from TWR partners and friends...to assist us in getting the Gospel to Mauritania."  That call for prayer came from Abdoulaye Sangho, TWR's International Director for West and Central Africa.  Why the urgent cry for help?  Because making disciples of Jesus is the Islamic Republic of Mauritania is extremely difficult.  According to Operation World (7th Edition), the population of Mauritania is approximately 3.3 million of which only one thousand consider themselves to be protestant Christians.  Operation World goes on to say "All Mauritanian peoples remain essentially unreached, and the vast majority have yet to hear the good news of God's grace through faith in Jesus" (1)  So, let's answer Abdoulaye's plea and begin praying for the mission field of Mauritania.
