Since our family became part of the TWR missionary community, we've had heavy doses of medical and dental issues, car problems, and even washer/dryer trouble.  Recently, more than one person has remarked, "If God has really called you to TWR, then why is it so hard?"  The inference is that if we are truly following Jesus, then everything will go smoothly and that He'll bless us whith good health, plenty of money in the bank, and new friends on every corner.  But, what does Jesus say about following Him?  "Whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple" (Luke 14:33, NKJV).  "In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world" (John 16:33, NKJV).  "Because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you...If they persecuted Me, they will also persecue you" (John 15:19-20, NKJV).  So, as disciples of Jesus, as we forsake all and follow Him, we can expect loss, tribulation, hatred, and persecution.  That's not an easy road, is it?  While our family has experienced some of these difficulties, in today's Footsteps, Dan Wicher of Camino Global tells the story of a talented symphony conductor who encountered far more trouble than the Napier family.  Give it a listen.
