Why are Native Americans more effective than outsiders at sharing the Gospel with their fellow Native Americans?  Isn't it obvious, Andy?  They are ministering to their own people.  Yes, but after my conversation with Weston Francis, I believe it goes much deeper.  Weston serves with On Eagles' Wings, which is part of Ron Hutchcraft Ministries, and on today's Footsteps, Weston makes this powerful point:

"When we go to these reservations, it's very real.  You can get to the hearts of young people when you share with them, 'Hey, look at me.  I carry the same scars that you carry.'"

You see, Weston is not just talking about the similarities that Native Americans have with each other, he's specifically referring to "brokenness."  I think this concept applies to all of us.  We can effectively share the Good News of Jesus with others when we carry the same scars that they carry.  We just need to be willing to open up about our mutual brokenness.
