In the field of radio, I've always rubbed shoulders with broadcast engineers.  They usually are highly intelligent, experienced, and passionate about their trade.  Because I've been in radio for over 40 years, I at least can carry on a simple conversation with engineers, but when they start "talking shop," when they begin to get overly technical, I quickly get lost in the discussion.  It's as if they are speaking another language.  Their terminology and concepts are just way over my head!

Well, that's not the case with today's Footsteps.  Our guest is Doug Weber of SonSet Solutions, and on this episode, Doug describes how TWR's regional shortwave transmitters in the jungle of Suriname work.  Doug should know because SonSet Solutions built them.  And here's the good news--Doug's explaination is so simple that even I understand it.  I think you will too.
