There Is Nothing more Important
For believers in Jesus, the truth of Scripture gives us an essential, eternal perspective:
"So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen in temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18, CSB)
"For we know that if our earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal dwelling in the heavens, not made with hands." (2 Corinthians 5:1, CSB)
This heavenly outlook gives hope to those of us who have received Christ as Lord and Savior. But what about those who don't know Jesus--those who only know the trials and troubles of this present world? As Christians, we are compelled to tell them about the Good News of Jesus. We must tell them about the everlasting hope that only He can provide. That's why we must share the Gospel with the Cuban people right now. "There is nothing more important," explains Haven Ministries' David Wollen on today's Footsteps, "and there is no greater source of comfort" for Cubans who presently lack food, medicine, electricity, and fuel. In the midst of their pain that is seen, we must point them to a hope that is unseen--to "an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading" (1 Peter 1:4, CSB). Let's tell them about Jesus!
