Being Is Better than Having

I enjoy good quotes.  In fact, the margins of my Bible are filled with them.  Well, during today's Footsteps conversation with Silas, an international soccer star from Brazil, Silas shared a short, simple, powerful thought--"Being is better than having."  I think those five words are a good summary of Matthew 16:26a (NASB) where Jesus teaches, "For what good will it do a person if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul?"  Truly, it is far better, eternally far better, to BE a true believer in Jesus than to HAVE all the wealth and fame that this world offers.
