In this weeks Q&A David Guzik answers questions about what Jesus meant when He used the words "this generation" in Matthew, 24, about whether God will say to us "I don't know you", how to develop a deep prayer life, if the person who caused a divorce is allowed to marry again, and many more!
David Guzik continues in his teaching series on the book of Jeremiah. In chapters 13 we see two signs that Jeremiah speaks through to the people of Israel, and the exposing of false prophets.
Jeremiah preaches a message of the broken covenant and finds a conspiracy coming against him. The prophet calls upon God who answers his servant with predictions of judgment for the nation of Israel.
In the 8th message in the series on Jeremiah, David Guzik continues to explain the cause and result of the judgment on the children of Israel, and how God's glory stands over all other gods.
On this week’s live Q&A, I dealt with October 31st – as Reformation Day, remembering Martin Luther! I also dealt with the issue of Lordship Salvation, how to know if I am born again, why did Jethro have two names, being baptized into Christ, cessationism and continuationism, who was the 12th disciple, and more!
October 31 marks Reformation Day, the day Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg. That day marked the beginning of the Protestant Reformation. David Guzik looks at the history of that significant event and gives us insight into what true Forgiveness of sins looks like buy taking us through Ephesians 1:7-8
In chapters 7 and 8 of Jeremiah we see the prophet giving his preaching at the temple gate, after God commands him to do so. Jeremiah publicly rebukes the children of Israel and prophecies judgement over them.
On today’s live question and answer time, I dealt with questions about tithing as a requirement for Christians today, about women teaching men in Bible study, about a hierarchy in the Trinity, why some Christians use BCE instead of BC, the gap theory in Genesis 1, knowing if it is God’s will to heal, and more!
In chapter 6 of Jeremiah we see the siege against Jerusalem coming, and the fury of the Lord rising against them. Pastor David Guzik explains the prophets warnings in this message of his series on the book of Jeremiah.
Psalm 136 is a special psalm, with each one of its 26 verses repeating the sentence, His mercy endures forever. Throughout the Hebrew Scriptures, the phrase has somewhat of a liturgical sense to it, as if the assembled people of Israel said or sung this in response to the direction of the Levites leading singing and worship. We picture a great multitude of the people of God gathered in the temple courts. A priest or Levite would call out a reason to give God thanks, and His people would respond with, “For His mercy endures forever.”
Consider how great the mercy of God is, as it is expressed in the person and work of Jesus Christ throughout this wonderful psalm!
Psalm 100 is a psalm of thanksgiving, and it speaks of an invitation to the whole earth to know and to worship God.
Pastor David Guzik gives the what and why of giving praise and the what and why of giving thanks.
