Worries and Gratitude Can Meet in Prayer

How can I give thanks to God when feeling exhausted, sad, or burdened?

Weakness Welcome Here

We edit photos to remove our flaws and craft resumes that tell people everything we're best at. Our world exalts and promotes strength while hiding weakness.

Praying in Anguished Times

God invites us to turn to Him, rather than away, when we are crushed with sorrow, anger or confusion.

Meeting Jesus, Doubts in Hand

Antonio Monda has asked a lot of people this question: "Do you believe in God?" Monda asked everyone from strangers on the street to politicians and celebrities, about their belief or unbelief, saying, "I think it's the most important subject of...all times."[1] (#_ftn1) But for many, questions about faith bring up doubts. It's commonly thought that the opposite of faith is doubt, in the same way that many believe that the opposite of courage is fear. But we learn to be brave while feeling afraid. In the same way, we explore, strengthen, and grow in faith while wrestling with doubts. We start the faith journey holding questions and maybe even accusations against God. Then God does His work in our lives.

The Journey to Beloved

When she was eight years old, Lucia was adopted, plucked out of a life on the streets in Latin America.

How Praying Together Strengthens Relationships

You can respond to a request for prayer by praying with someone you're conversing with right then and there.  Immediate prayer invites another into sacred conversation and, hopefully, brings immediate encouragement.

Mother, the Greatest Preacher

A respected preacher of the past had four sons who also grew up to be great preachers like their dad. The youngest son once asked, "Dad, who is the greatest preacher in the family?" The dad "looked hard at each son in turn and then, with a twinkle in his eye said, 'Your Mother!'"[1] (#_ftn1)   [1] (#_ftnref1) Cole-Rous, Jim. “The Mother of RufusJim.” JourneyOnline, 14 Feb. 2022, journeyonline.org/lessons/the-mother-of-rufus/?series=8751.

Don't Buy the Soulmate Myth

God turns our idea of love around and asks us to consider what we can give, rather than what we can get

Be the One Who Prays!

All the power in prayer is God's power.

The God Who is With You in Your Darkest Valley

The God of the Bible isn't a spectator God who's far away in heaven.
