It is possible that a church, a group of born-again believers, know the great truths of the Gospel and of Scripture, and yet be "fallen." How? The true church of Christ is one which is not only Christ's by virtue of faith in His blood, but living by virtue of faith in His Spirit, the Holy Spirit. Profession is one thing. Possession of Life by the Spirit revealed in fellowship with Christ, is the proof and essence of belonging to Christ.
