Christianity is an exchanged life, one where the believer, on the basis of Christ's complete and perfect work on the cross, can, by the grace of God, put off the old life in Adam, and put on Christ. This means the turning away from all trust in the flesh and putting one's faith wholly in Christ as one's life. The Apostle Paul would sum this up in his words: "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."
