There are different kinds of wars. They can be great or small, very personal or not. But there is one war which rises above all the others in importance. It is the war of the lost soul who is an enemy of the cross, and a quiet or loud defiant unbeliever, at war with God, His holiness, goodness, and truth. There is only one way that this war can cease, and it is by the sovereign power of the Prince of Peace, who comes to seek the lost to find. He comes in His mercy and grace, His lowliness and meekness to bring the rebellious soul to faith in Him, in order to remove the stoney heart and replacing it with a flesh one, one where Christ can take up His residence by the Spirit.
