Why The Cross

Why was the cross necessary in the design of God so that man might be saved? It was first to be that communicating to mankind of the wretchedness of sin for which the Savior died, and at the same time, the greatest manifestation and meaning of the love of God in His design and work to save men from the penalty and power of sin. The cross was the symbol of the meaning of sin in God's eyes, and at the same time, the revelation of the Savior from it.
