Transformed!

In this sermon on Romans 6:1–2, Stephen Davey explains that God’s grace is not a license to sin but a power that transforms the believer’s relationship to sin. Addressing the danger of antinomianism, he clarifies that true grace does not encourage sinful living but leads to a new identity in Christ. Believers have died to the reign of sin through their union with Christ and now live under the reign of grace. Davey emphasizes that understanding grace rightly changes how we think and live—reminding us what has happened to us, who we are, and where we belong—so that instead of asking how much we can sin, we are motivated to pursue holiness out of gratitude for what Christ has done.
