Establishing and pursuing goals is so important in life. Unfortunately, some individuals never set or pursue
goals and others lose focus of their goals leading to a great disappointment in life. What happens if we
don’t continue pursuing godly goals?
I want to talk today about modesty, or should I say that lack of modesty? This issue is very close to humility. Let’s begin by looking at the definition of a couple words.
Nothing reveals the bankruptcy of modern day Christians more clearly than the lack of prayer. Why don’t
we pray more? If prayer is the ultimate act of spiritual intimacy with God, shouldn’t it be the central act of
our life as a Christian?
In today’s story, Peter went up on a roof top to pray. He was waiting for the meal to be prepared for his
physical hunger, but during his time alone, God revealed truth to him that became the turning point for the
Church. God used Peter’s physical hunger to create a new hunger for reconciliation of all people
everywhere.
God is the One who causes the Church to grow, but He uses His children, people, just like you and me, to build it. As God’s children, we are called to actively participate in meeting the needs and providing the ministries that will help people grow spiritually and mature and in Christ. Today we will look at the early church in Acts and Ephesians as our example and model.
