The Creator Of The New
When God created all things, He made them new. When a soul is born of the Spirit, God makes that individual to be a new creation. He is the God of the new, because He is always new, unchanging, unaffected by the downward, deteriorating effects of sin. When He works in the heart, it is always new, refreshing the soul.
Tangible Faith
Faith is real substance, even though it is invisible. The effects of faith, like the wind, demonstrate the reality of it. However, true faith, is that which is fixed in God, centered in Him wholly. It is the gift of God in response to the cry of the heart. It is true substance because it comes from God.
God Speaks In the Stillness
God speaks in the stillness to the heart and mind of the believer. This is why it is so very important to be quiet, and still before Him, waiting upon Him to speak to our hearts in His word. Does He desire to speak? The Lord Jesus shed His blood on Calvary, so that we could hear and respond to His voice.
Faith's First Fundamental Truth
True faith in God begins with a fundamental truth of God, and it is that there is but one God, worthy to be loved and honored. Any other concept of God other than that which Christ declares by His life and words, is not of God, and thus, will not be honored by the One who alone gives true faith.
Things Too Wonderful
One of God's names is "Wonderful." That which He does is wonderful. How much of the wonderful do we truly see? How much can we trust Him for? O Lord, Open our eyes and expand our faith.
The Timing Of God
God alone knows God's timing, with regard to an event, or specifically to His working. It is only as we wait upon God, that He responds to such faith, by revealing what He will do, and when. The certainty about this matter is that when God declares that He will do something at a certain time, He will definitely do it.
Prophesy To The Wind
Are we to trust and pray for the Spirit of God to move in our hearts, and in the hearts of others? Yes, even declaring that it is the will of God to always be filled with the Holy Spirit. To "prophesy to the wind," is to take God at his word, preach and pray that it is the will of God for His Spirit to fill us all.
The Commitment To Christ
What does it mean to commit oneself to Christ? What is the basis of the commitment, and how is it to be done? With the knowledge of the truth of Christ, and the gospels, there is the foundation for the surrender of the life to Christ as Lord, and the engagement of heart to love, live and serve Him. How is this to be done? God responds to the cry of the heart.
Now I Know
What is true knowledge, great and wonderful knowledge? Is it not that pertaining to God who is perfect and holy? That which is the end and purpose of man, is that he may truly KNOW God, and Jesus Christ whom He has sent. To know, and be persuaded of, the truth of God, is to be blessed beyond measure. Christ IS Christianity, and the knowledge of Him, and the experience of His life, is the pinnacle of our existence.
Not Wanting For Anything
What does David mean, by saying, "...I shall not want." Is it not the same thing that another Psalmist would say, "...no good thing will He withhold from him that walketh uprightly?" (Ps. 84:11) It is the same. God gives all that we need in Jesus Christ, for His glory and honor. Who will choose to live in this reality?
