Bones That Can Hear
God created the ear to hear. But God can cause dry bones to hear also, especially when He is speaking to them. Much like the sinful heart of man which is born dead spiritually to God. In and of himself he cannot hear, but when God speaks, He gives power to hear, discern, and strength to obey and believe. This is God's way, speaking to our hearts by His word, with the accompanying power to believe and live.
The Necessity Of Peace
It is often the case in Biblical history that God brought about a peace in a place or culture for a time in order for people to hear the gospel and be in an attitude of mind to carefully its implications. Indeed, it is a subject for prayer that God will provide peace where we live that we may live without fear in a manner worthy of Him. May God give us grace to believe Him for peace in the heart, and in circumstances.
The Impending Calling
God's calling of an individual to follow Christ is not a group calling. It is specifically addressed to the individual. In essence it is a calling of one's name to come, follow Christ. Since it is of God, there is an importance in that calling that is eternal in its effects. All that is in Christ is involved in that calling, for it is a calling to true fellowship and communion with God, a very real walk with Him.
From This Time Forth And Forever
Why is the present moment so very important? It is a marker that stands separating the past from the future. It is also that opportunity that is at the disposition of every man to choose whom he will serve, and how he will live. The basic question concerning this moment, from this time forth and forever, is: Will the present moment be spent for eternity or just for a moment in time?
Four Essential Spiritual Weapons
There are certain truths which are not only essential to one's faith, and walk with Christ, but also for being victorious in the spiritual conflict which the believer will face on this earth. A knowledge of these spiritual weapons, and their use by faith and obedience are essential to appropriating the victory of Christ on a daily basis.
Do You Believe This
Christianity is based on not only facts, but, and primarily upon the Person of Jesus Christ. The only way by which individual can know Christ is by faith, personal trust in a Person. The first question is: Who is Jesus Christ according to the Bible? and secondly, What does He require that I do in order to know Him? To believe is to commit oneself to Him, surrender to His authority and power, trusting Him and Him alone for time and eternity. To know Him is to live.
Beloved Of The Father
As Christ was the beloved Son of the Father, so too, every believer in Christ because of the new birth, and the presence of the Holy Spirit in the heart, not only belongs to the Father, but is the object of His great love. As He sees Christ, He sees the believer in Him. The believer is also a beloved child of the Father.
The Irrevocable Calling And Anointing Of God
God's calling does not change, nor does He take back the gifts and capacities that He has given. That which limits the believer in the receiving of, and embracing of that calling and gifts, is his unbelief or little faith. The remedy is to see Christ exalted, unwavering, undeterred concerning His Father's will and purpose, then to realize that He is in our hearts by the Spirit.
The Call For A Fresh Revelation
Why does God give us the revelation of Himself in Christ? It is to inspire us to believe and follow Christ. Often it is essential for the soul to have a fresh revelation of Christ, and His work, so that faith can lay hold upon Him for the realization of His work by His power. May God give us all that Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, showing us His works and glory.
The Answer To A Troubled Heart
What is the solution to a troubled heart? It is only in Christ, for He alone is able and capable enough to meet the need causing the heart to be troubled. It is in recognizing the need, casting that need upon the Lord's shoulders, that we can be free from trouble, and know His peace. He gives His peace when we trust in Him. He works in answer to faith. His calm comes when we rest in Him who alone can bear the burden.
