The Key To David's Life
What is a key, but an instrument for the purpose of opening and closing of doors. The key that unlocked the door of David's heart and life was singleness of devotion to God, a whole-hearted commitment to God to love and serve Him. This key was used according to the power of God in him, and this by the Spirit. When David was anointed, the enablement was given to him to love God, and do the will of God, fulfilling the purpose of God for his life. Christ was His life.
Seeking Things Above
To have been placed into Jesus Christ, and with Christ dwelling in the heart by faith by His Spirit, the door has now been opened to seek all things good and needful for the doing of His will, and this in Christ at the right hand of God. All the fulness of God dwells in Him, and the believer is complete in Him. Now is the time, the hour, to seek those things IN HIM whereby He shall be glorified and honored.
Created For God's Fulness
When Christ is the life of an individual, it is possible by His grace and mercy to be filled with the Spirit. Not only does the truth of God's words speak to us of fulness, and blessing, but of power and authority. One is filled with the Spirit when, by the grace of God, one submits to the authority of Christ, believing Him for His blessed fulness. He also trusts God to keep him clean, and receptive to all that God desires to give, so that one may do the will of God for His glory.
Christ The Power Of God In man
It has been said that Christianity is Christ. But let's go a little further in declaring that it's expression of Christ dwelling in the heart by faith, the fruits of the Spirit being manifested in the life. It is that blessed aroma of Christ's life revealed in and through the life of the believer by faith. It is also that life of faithful obedience to God by the power of the Spirit. All things are possible to Christ, the power of God in the believer.
Thirsting For God
What is this thirsting for God but the desire in the heart for God, to know about Him, but also to know Him personally? How is it possible to know Him? It is by coming to Him, the only God and Jesus Christ whom He hath sent. When the desire is there to know Him, it is certainly the work of God in the heart to bring it to pass. When once the desire becomes the will to know Him, then, with truth by the Spirit, Christ becomes the real and truth Savior and Lord of the life.
The Unsearchable Riches Of Christ
How does one preach or declare the boundless richesses of Christ, and the consequent possibility of knowing something of those richesses? It is only by coming to the truth in Christ, revealed by the Spirit of God, that we can begin to know the wonder, and glory, of knowing Christ while on this earth. The wonderful promise of God is that He will work in a manner that exceeds what we could ask or think.
The Impending Commission
The commission that God gives to an individual, a church, or nation, has always behind it the wisdom and grace of God. God the just judge, and Savior of men in Christ, works in wisdom to bring His will to pass, always in order to save lost men and women. As the Sovereign God, He is ever seeking to bring about His kingdom in the hearts and lives of men, in order to save the lost. His specific commission is given to all who will accept it, trusting in His grace to accomplish His will for His glory and the blessing of men.
God's Guidance
Seeking to know the guidance of God begins with a willingness to be led. This is affirmed by Scripture in John's gospel. (7:17) The promises of God are many concerning guidance, especially when seeking first the kingdom of God, and that which is right in His eyes. He has promised to instruct and teach the believer in the way he should go. The wondrous Counsellor confirms the knowledge of His will by the peace that He gives.
Crossing Jordan
The Red Sea and the Jordan River are two landmarks of history, specifically concerning the revealed glory of God. On the one hand at the Red Sea, Israel as a people, was delivered or saved from the tyrant, Pharaoh. At the Jordan River, the people were saved unto a new beginning, a new life, a new land where the promises of God would be revealed and accomplished. There was to be no looking back at Egypt, only looking forward to the Christ of the Promised Land.
Breaking Through By Faith
There are times when, because of opposition or difficulty, prayer and faith are essential to break through to see the realization of the will of God. There are also times of spiritual resistance when the enemy's grip on a situation or people is impossible to overcome unless the Lord deals with the spiritual authorities in place. All becomes possible when the believer knows the will of God and takes his position by the Spirit in the name of Christ, claiming the power of the blood of Christ. The enemy will yield when the power of Christ is brought to bear upon him.
