This is a tough Parent Minute. The loss of a child. It’s just NOT right. Parents shouldn’t have to bury their kids. How can God allow this? I really have NO answers for these questions, except the verses that everyone quotes. Please remember these things as you deal with your grief. First, it’s okay to grieve. It’s a long process. You’ll never get over it—you just get through it. Secondly, don’t forget you have other kids. They’re hurting, too. They need you. Lastly, take time to praise God for the time you did have with your child. Lamentations 3:22 and 23: “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness” (ESV).
