If you were given a choice of either $1 million tax-free dollars or God’s promise never to leave us nor forsake us, which would you choose? The spiritual side of us knows the answer, but if you’re like me, the money is kind of tempting. By nature, sinners, we want to be self-sufficient as possible. God must grieve when he sees us trying to figure things out for ourselves when He already has the perfect plan. While we can’t see or hear it, God’s plan for our lives is perfect. It requires trust and risk. Are we too dependent upon our job, 401k or other investments to “make it.” Do our kids see us trusting God, or our bank accounts? Words are great, but actions speak volumes more.
