Have your kids picked up some language that makes your skin crawl? It’s everywhere—school, online, even among friends. But God’s Word says our words matter. Ephesians 4:29 says, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up.” We can’t just shrug it off. We should sit down with our kids and explain that crude language reflects the heart. Remind them that as followers of Jesus, we’re called to be different—even in how we speak. Ask them, “Are your words building others up or tearing them down?” Then model clean, encouraging speech yourself. They’re listening more than you think.
