Mom, don’t post that!

Have your kids ever said, “Please don’t post that”? Many parents feel proud of their kids’ accomplishments—and want to share them. But sometimes, we overshare. Proverbs 11:13 reminds us, “A trustworthy person keeps a confidence.” Kids deserve dignity, even online. Every post becomes part of their digital story. Will it embarrass them later? Could it put them at risk? Instead of posting every moment, ask them if it’s okay. Say, “Can I share this?” If they say no, respect it. Celebrate privately. Praise them face to face. Let your joy be about who they are—not how many likes you get. Honoring their privacy is part of loving them sacrificially—just like Christ does with us. Let’s be wise with their stories.
