I'm sure you've heard that saying before, right? We all get it and believe it—or do we? How many times have we been guilty of saying something like, “That’s not very flattering.” Or, “Does this outfit make me look fat?” Our kids take their cues from us, frankly, and we need to be careful. David, one of our Parent Minute friends, is concerned that his young daughter is more concerned about her outward appearance than her inner beauty. “Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised” (Proverbs 31:30, ESV). That’s the kind of beauty that honors the Lord. How do you plan to teach it? Suggestion: model it.
Beauty is only skin deep.
