We spend so much time finding the “perfect” gift, but nothing compares to the one God gave us. Romans 6:23 says, “The gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” That’s the real meaning of Christmas—God sent His Son to rescue us. When our kids or grandkids ask what you want for Christmas, tell them you already have the greatest gift: Jesus. Talk about salvation as a free gift you can’t earn or buy. Maybe wrap a small box labeled “Jesus” and put it under the tree as a reminder. Let our kids and grandkids see that joy doesn’t come from things, but from knowing the Savior who left His Heavenly Father, came to earth die for us, so we can have life through Jesus.
