If you're a parent, you've heart that a MILLION times. Kids are just selfish. Actually, we can be, too. Unfortunately, our western culture has turned many kids (and adults for that matter) into an entitlement society. I'm not a fan. My own daughter gets trapped in it sometimes. How can we help our kids out of it? GIVE EM A JOB. No, not child labor - chores. Make them EARN the money to buy things. As the do, teach them biblical principles of giving to God, saving and then purchasing the things they 'want.' In second Thessalonians 3 Paul reminds us that if anybody isn't willing to work, they shouldn't eat. No, don't make them work for their supper, but teach them to work for their Savior.
