There’s an old country-western song called, “Momma Knows.” The singer tells us how unsuccessful he was, as a kid, trying to hide his secrets from his mother. Mom and dad, you have "parental radar" to sense what's going on below the surface. Some are better at it than others. Help it grow. As it does you'll get better at seeing your kids problems just as soon as he or she walks in the room. When you do, address it right away with love, respect, courage and hopefully wisdom. Use your God-given skill of "parental radar." Trust your instincts. They may push back at firsts, but they'll love you for it afterward.
Mom, Dad--do you have your radar turned on?
